Planetarium Founders Society

Dear Friends,

Are you a stargazer? An armchair astronomer? Does space fascinate you?

We invite you to join the Planetarium Founders Society – a new, exclusive recognition society with great benefits – to support Ohio State University’s Department of Astronomy and have an incredible opportunity to see the kind of star shows you may not have realized are possible with modern digital technology.

In October 2013, the department opens the doors to its newly renovated Planetarium, a state-of-the-art facility, featuring a Spitz SciDome XD digital projector and a new NanoSeam dome. This advanced digital projection technology takes viewing the heavens to a whole new level of definition and clarity. The Ohio State University is one of the few institutions in the nation with a SciDome XD projector system.

With a pledge of $1,500 you will be entitled to

  • Free admission to an exclusive grand opening event (for all who donate by 2013 October 1)
  • Free admission to an annual Founders Society “Thank You” celebration
  • Special previews of new Planetarium shows before they premier to the general public
  • Name recognition on a plaque inside the Planetarium

Act now and become eligible to name a seat in the Planetarium – Limited Seats Available (60) to Name. First Come, First Served. ($1,500 per seat; two seats purchased meets the $3000 threshold for membership in the President’s Club).
