Programs for Scouts & 4-H

The OSU Planetarium offers programs for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Brownies and 4-H groups upon request.

Scout Programs

Our scouting  programs are based upon our standard planetarium program, but are modified to help scouts satisfy the requirements for belt loops, badges, and pins, by learning about the night sky. Visitors in the past have been aided in obtaining merit badges such as the following:

  • Cub Scout Astronomy Belt Loop and Pin
  • Brownie Space Explorer Try-It Badge
  • Boy Scout Astronomy Merit Badge
  • Girl Scout Sky Search Badge

The OSU Planetarium will be closed for major renovation from June 2012 until Autumn Semester 2013.  We are not currently accepting requests for new programs, but will resume scout programs after our renovation is complete.

4-H Programs

Starting in Autumn 2013 we plan to introduce new astronomy programs for 4-H groups. Watch this space for more information.
