Global Star Party 2017

Astronomers circle the globe
April 1, 2017
7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Roof of Smith Lab, access by stairs from planetarium, Smith Lab 5033

Join the OSU Planetarium and Department of Astronomy as we celebrate the Global Star Party!

Rain or Shine: Planetarium shows every 1/2 hour from 7-9:30 on New Horizons' Voyage to Pluto

Weather Permitting: Observing the Moon, Jupiter, stars, and nebulae through telescopes on the Roof of Smith Lab

There is no cost and no reservations are needed for the roof night. While the planetarium is accessible to all, please be warned there are several flights of stairs from the planetarium to the telescope on the roof of Smith Lab. If it is cloudy or raining we will have to cancel the roof part of the program but will show the Pluto show inside as long as there is interest.

If you are coming for the roof night follow the directions to the planetarium and tell them you are here to look through the telescopes. We look forward to seeing you.

Weather Update

Planetarium shows definitely on! Spectacular views of Pluto to be had!

There is still a small hope that the skies will clear up. We will be keeping an eye on the weather and will open up the telescope if at all possible. You are also welcome on the roof to enjoy the high views of the campus.
