The weather looks iffy but the front looks as if we are on the trailing edge so depending on a few miles it may clear more than we expect. Weather updates will be provided throughout the day. In the likeliness that Mars will not be visible, we will schedule another roof night in August. Information will be posted on our main page http://planetarium.osu.edu.EventCome to see Mars almost as big as it was in 2003 and the last time until 2035!!! While just a few days after Martian Opposition, when Mars, the Earth, and the Sun all line-up, it is now bigger and badder. Views of Mars will tantalize us using The Ohio State University's Arne Slettebak Planetarium and Smith Lab Observatory. We will have a short Mars program inside the planetarium along with telescopes set up on the roof. In the case of Ohio Weather, we will have backup days later in the week. No tickets or reservations needed!!We do not have a working Elevator. Use North East Stairwells. An alternate elevator to the 4th floor is on the SW corner of the building and you will still need to climb the last flight of stairs to the planetarium. The telescopes on the roof are not accessible to those who are mobility impaired, however, we can take one of our telescopes to the ground floor and set it up for all to enjoy.UPDATED Schedule as of 8/2 @5:30pm: We are "go" for whatever happens.August 2, 20188:00 PM - Mars Planetarium Show every 30 minutes8:47 PM - Sunset and planet spottingMercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn8:58 PM - Mars Rises10:00 PM - Mars is above 10 degrees10:00 PM - Planetarium shows stop unless there is high demand10:45 PM - Moon Rises11:00 PM - Shut down unless we have a lot of people around Arne Slettebak Planetarium and Smith Lab Observatory, Rm 5033 Smith Lab, 174 W 19th Ave, Columbus Ohio Arne Slettebak Planetarium at Ohio State planetarium@osu.edu America/New_York public
