The Room is Cleared

The next milestone in the OSU Planetarium renovation has been achieved with the removal of the chairs and old floor tiles.  We've also taken down all the old pictures.

All that remains is for the old projection dome to be lowered and dismantled and the room will be bare-concrete and bricks ready for our renovation contractor, Prater Engineering, to come in and make the space ready for the new dome, projector system, carpet, and seating.

The weekend of Aug 24/25 a crew from Ash Enterprises will arrive with a group of volunteers from Perkins Observatory and the Columbus Astronomical Society (CAS) to help the Ash crew dismantle and pack the old projection dome for shipping to the Perkins Observatory.  With our old Spitz A3P starball projector and the old 30-foot dome, Tom Burns and his team will have the main pieces it needs to begin planning for re-erecting the A3P at Perkins.
